21 Days of Hope - Day 6 - Nicaragua Testimony

Recently, pioneer missionaries in Central America shared this testimony with our global coalition and ever since, it has been burning in my heart. I believe this is an invitation for us today, to believe for provision, and to believe for the miraculous!  Their story goes like this...

“Here in Nicaragua, we had a large container sent to us 3 years ago. The container was full of medical supplies. However, Nicaragua is very strict about medical supplies coming into the country, so the container was not released. We fought for the container to be released but customs would not release it. And we finally gave up. But, after all that time, just a few days ago we received a phone call saying we were to come and pick up our container because it had finally been released — after 3 years!”

When they opened the container, it was stuffed full of breathing machines, nebulizers, masks and basically everything that you would need for relevant response to a coronavirus outbreak. They have now distributed the machines and supplies to hospitals all over the country!  Isn’t that amazing?

With every problem, God has a provision. He knew this container was for this time. It was God’s idea to send it and His idea to hold it until the right time. I think of the Israelites and God’s faithfulness to provide manna each day. In Exodus 16:4 the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day.”

I challenge you to not just look at your problems today but look for the provision. What is God providing for you right now. Consciously shift your focus to that and watch hope rise!
